Our Notable Milestones

History

Initially formed as ‘Sydney Supersonics Sports Club’ in the year 2010 by a group of cricket enthusiasts on the back of missing a
community-based sports club.

As a club, we used to participate PDCA (Parramatta District cricket Association) summer cricket competitions and participate Indian council winter tournament. We started off with just one team but then progressed slowly into two teams within the first two years.

Over the years we have grown exponentially with more than 8 teams playing for the club in various grades in PDCA summer competition.
We also expanded to participate into various winter cricket tournaments like SMCA (Sydney Morning Cricket Association) and VMCC (Vishnu Memorial Cricket Competition) winter tournaments.

We had our first Junior cricket team in the summer of 2017-18 who represented us in the PDCA Junior U-13 competition. We expanded into 2 Junior teams in the following year in line with the club’s vision of promoting Junior cricket in the community.

Birth of Kellyville Supersonics

In the year 2020, we rebranded ourselves into ‘Kellyville Supersonics Sports Club’ and affiliated with Cricket NSW to start our new journey. Our vision and focus are to promote and develop Junior boys and girls cricket in the community and also supporting Senior/community cricket in the Kellyville region.

With great help from Cricket NSW, we have established our roots in the Kellyville area within this short span of time and we are now a
well-known sports club in the community.

In the first year of inception, we had 7 Senior teams representing the club and 4 Junior teams representing us in PDCA competition. We had 2 Junior teams playing in Under-10 competition, 1 in U-12 and 1 in U-16 competition.

We also had our first Junior girls team representing us proudly in the PDCA Thunder girls’ competition.

Moving on to the second year of Kellyville Supersonics, we had 6 teams in Senior cricket, a total of 5 Junior boy’s teams and 2 Junior girls teams representing us in various grades in PDCA
cricket competition.

We also conduct various cricket programs during the year for kids including Woolworths Blaster programs. We received tremendous support for our initiatives in the community with many are embracing what we offer in nurturing talents and providing a platform for the kids to explore, embrace and excel in the sport.

With excellent support from Cricket NSW and the local council including providing us grants that allows us to provide better facilities, sporting gears and resources for the development of Juniors and bringing joy to the kids, their families and to all our supporters, we are here to stay for a long haul and make a positive difference in
the community.
